About Wide Panel
The were several original pattern numbers (#645, #647, #6569) used by Imperial even though there really was not any difference in the configuration, per Carl O Burns book, Imperial Carnival Glass Identification and Value Guide. The bowls and plates were combined and marketed to be sold as salad and centerpiece sets. A salad set would be a 9″ bowl with 11 ” plate and six 8″ plates while the centerpiece set would be a 12″ bowl and a 14″ underplate (and frequently matched with candlesticks). There are lamp shades in Wide Panel.
