Keyhole – Dugan by Ingrid Spurrier

This information is from the daily Hooked on Carnival mail list dated 7-19-2021 and reprinted with permission from Ingrid Spurrier.

Hi Brian and All,

Tonight’s pattern is Keyhole.  This is seldom seen as a primary pattern (plain interior) and always seems to have a radium pastel marigold iridescence on a three and one shape.  I’ve only seen two, but I know there is at least one more “out there”.

Keyhole is the secondary pattern for Raindrops, most often seen in peach opal.  Let’s face it, Raindrops is not a “sexy” pattern, unless you find one of the electric purples.  In general, you might turn a piece over to check on the amount of opal, on a peach piece.  The purples, like a lot of Dugan, aren’t always iridised on the back, so…  My peach opal pieces are a tce low bowl or plate (?), apparently a pretty scarce shape, and, a two sides up or banana bowl, both with pretty good opal.  The purple bowl is NOT mine.  I have to confess to not photographing the back.  Sorry.

I have a vague idea of what I might send in tomorrow.  One of these days I have a niggling question to ask.  Be warned.

Take care All, Ingrid.
