NUART Engraved Shades – Cutting #’s
By Hooked on Carnival
Imperial Glass Co had a line called NUART (many of the pieces actually have that molded into the pattern), and one of the lines was light shades (gas and electric). There is catalog documentation for the cutting numbers on the different shade shape numbers, so here is a reference that may help with identification of those iridized NUART Engraved shades. In the catalog, the numbers under the example were the shade/style number and then the cutting number.
NUART shade cuttings (iridized):
Cutting #51 (usually shade #535)
NUART Engraved Flower and Vine – row of leaves with a 6 petaled flower
Cutting #52 (usually shade #535)
NUART Engraved Flower and Vine – same 6 petaled flower, but with looping vines

Cutting #54 (usually shade #548)
NUART Engraved Flower and Vine – same 6 petaled flower, but with leafy flowering vines BELOW the flower

Cutting #55 (usually shade #535 & 591)
NUART Engraved Grape – cluster of 8 grapes, leafy vines tied to the top of the grape bunch

We don’t have the catalog excerpts for the following cuttings, so we’ve used examples from the database:
NUART Engraved Grape – Cutting #10 (usually shade #669)
Multiple large clusters of grapes with poofy leaves above on the vines

NUART Engraved Grape – Cutting #104 (usually shade #548)
-
Cluster of 13 grapes, vines attached to top of bunch
